(Constructions) The construction of the Gediminas Castle was managed by Grand Duke Gediminas, who was the ruler of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from 1315 to 1341. The castle was built on a hilltop in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. The fortress was made of wood and stone, with a rectangular perimeter of about 600 meters long. Inside the castle, there were several towers, gates, and a chapel. The main tower was the highest, measuring about 30 meters in height. The main gate was located on the south side of the fortress, and it had two massive wooden doors. There were also two more gates on the east and west sides. The castle was surrounded by a moat and a wall, which had two towers, one on each side. The castle was the residence of the Grand Duke Gediminas and his court. It was also the seat of government and a military stronghold. Inside the castle, there were many rooms, including a throne room, a dining hall, and a chapel.
